Ericka Napp
Owner/Manager, Designer Growing up in a creative family, Ericka has always been exposed to art and the love of creating, which lead her to pursue a college career in Design. Attending UW-Madison for Textile and Apparel Design, and The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC for Surface Design, set the stage for an exciting young career in the Home Fashions industry. After living in New York, Ericka returned to WI where she was hired at Lands' End as a Textile Development Assistant. Ericka's next step was at Sears Holdings Corporation in Chicago, where she debuted as a designer in Home Fashions. As a designer for bedding and bath she developed products for modern, casual, and seasonal brands as well as Ty Pennington's licensed brand. She expanded her skills to include tabletop, home decor, and linens. Her experience with Sears included traveling to Europe for trend research and attending trade shows in NY and abroad. Ericka furthered her professional career at Nostalgia Home Fashions. As working partners with major retailers, she designed products for Dillards, JcPenny, Ralph Lauren, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Linens and Things, to name a few. She facilitated all aspects of the design process including researching trends, designing prints, creating color palettes, and working directly with factories to produce product. She traveled to Paris, London, and Germany to shop for trends. It might have been somewhere along one of these trips where she realized there's a product back home that's just as beautiful, if not more so, than the ones in the high end European stores... It was all the amazing experiences, people and mentors that Ericka's had along the way that allowed her take the next step-leaving the corporate world to join her parents pottery business. To help promote a brand and a product that she believes in, and that's incomparable to anything she's seen in her travels and trade shows. 'For me it was the natural next step... |
